Looking forward to it! I actually thought, "Wonder how you could get a copy of that book."

This is brilliant and so well documented. I’ve inherited my mother’s poetry and I’ve been wanting to set them to print form. I’ve also considered sharing some here. Show how her talents rubbed off on me. This has inspired me to give it some real thought once more. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to it!

Erica you absolutely should!

Hey, Erica, thanks so much and I hope you do. It's been a really good experience for me. Cathartic I would say, to publish his stuff starting about a year after he died. You probably know this, but I'm going to be publishing his book at thenorm.substack.com (I probably should've put that in the Post) Thanks for reading! -Adam

I love substack because of finds like this! I grew up in St Paul and one job I had with Huffy before they hurled me into the bowels of Dayton, Ohio was an area manager for their assembly and repair division. The eastern most part of my area was to Eau Claire and Menomonie was a stop for a Kmart (yeah, I’m that old!) Chippewa Falls, Onalaska, Altoona, La Crosse… too many stories… none of them involved a body, though… but some came pretty dam close. Can’t wait for the book!!

Thanks, Gérard!! I spent most of my childhood at the Menomonie Kmart! It was right up the road from our house (not much else to do lol). I moved to St. Paul and Minneapolis as an adult. We must be tracking! Thanks much for reading. -Adam

Such an enjoyable read, Adam! Thanks for sharing it. Can I ask for your help? I looked for 'Murder in Menomonie' on Substack, but without success so far. It's becoming painful—like stepping on a Lego in the middle of the night. Can you help me?

Thanks Simone! Sorry I should’ve updated, just looking through the archives for some legal releases still (since it was all real people in book) 😬 Hope to have it together soon!!

LOL, sorry about that. 😸But thanks for pointing it out so I could update the article too. If (when?) I'm able to get everything together I will make an announcement.

Great marketing idea and nice story about your dad. I don't think my kids are really into my writing - I did give them copies of my two novels but heard nothing.

One of my writerly t-shirts says, "Careful, or you'll end up in my novel".

Thanks, yeah these people who paid to be in his novel probably some wished they hadn’t 😅

I can’t wait to read it! This is, and no exaggeration, one of my favorite stories ever. Your dad is a genius.
