Hi, I’m Adam Rockwell. 🧙‍♂️

I’m an essayist and novelist known for my over-the-top storytelling and typos1. Whether it’s real-life reflections, fiction about demons trying to take over the world, or small-town weirdness, I do it all.

My books include The Unexpected Exorcist and The Mabel Tainter Memorial: A Lumber Baron’s Legacy—the official guidebook to one of Wisconsin’s most haunted (and architecturally stunning) theaters. Plus, another book that we shall not discuss here in polite company.

New Substack posts usually land on the weekend. Sometimes Saturday, sometimes Sunday. Occasionally Wednesday, if the cats let me write.

I grew up in small-town Wisconsin, spent a decade writing and working in Minneapolis, and now live with my family in Newport, Oregon. I’m slowly becoming an amateur-class whale watcher and full-time umbrella enthusiast, mostly to annoy the Oregon Coast locals. 🐋 ☂️
